Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater leaves the band

This is devastating news as a Dream Theater fan AND as a Portnoy fan.
He says it's on good terms... and it's something he never wanted to do... I know he was touring/recording with Avenged Sevenfold this year as well, but I didn't think this would be the result.

Top 10 Bar No-No's, As Seen By A Bartender

Hurricane season? Never would have known!

All this talk about Hurricanes lately has got me thinking.  I live on an island in the North Atlantic, and suffer some pretty unfavourable weather, but we don't get it as bad here as some places a little further south.  Why live in these locales?  Is the fantastic weather really worth the risk?

Hit the jump for a really cool shot of both Danielle and Earl from space, and another of just Earl as it gains strength.
